increase fire danger over central Indiana this afternoon. Rain
over the last week will help to limit the overall threat, but with
the strength of the winds any fires could quickly get out of
control.
Avoid open burning if possible today and be sure to properly
dispose of flammable items.Special Weather Statement2024-03-19T03:24:00-04:002024-03-19T03:24:00-04:002024-03-19T03:24:00-04:002024-03-19T10:30:00-04:00ActualAlertMetExpectedModerateObservedCarroll; Warren; Tippecanoe; Clinton; Howard; Fountain; Montgomery; Boone; Tipton; Hamilton; Madison; Delaware; Randolph; Vermillion; Parke; Putnam; Hendricks; Marion; Hancock; Henry; Vigo; Clay; Owen; Morgan; Johnson; Shelby; Rush; Sullivan; Greene; Monroe; Brown; Bartholomew; Decatur; Knox; Daviess; Martin; Lawrence; Jackson; JenningsSAME018015SAME018171SAME018157SAME018023SAME018067SAME018045SAME018107SAME018011SAME018159SAME018057SAME018095SAME018035SAME018135SAME018165SAME018121SAME018133SAME018063SAME018097SAME018059SAME018065SAME018167SAME018021SAME018119SAME018109SAME018081SAME018145SAME018139SAME018153SAME018055SAME018105SAME018013SAME018005SAME018031SAME018083SAME018027SAME018101SAME018093SAME018071SAME018079UGCINZ021UGCINZ028UGCINZ029UGCINZ030UGCINZ031UGCINZ035UGCINZ036UGCINZ037UGCINZ038UGCINZ039UGCINZ040UGCINZ041UGCINZ042UGCINZ043UGCINZ044UGCINZ045UGCINZ046UGCINZ047UGCINZ048UGCINZ049UGCINZ051UGCINZ052UGCINZ053UGCINZ054UGCINZ055UGCINZ056UGCINZ057UGCINZ060UGCINZ061UGCINZ062UGCINZ063UGCINZ064UGCINZ065UGCINZ067UGCINZ068UGCINZ069UGCINZ070UGCINZ071UGCINZ072AWIPSidentifierSPSINDWMOidentifierWWUS83 KIND 190724NWSheadlineELEVATED FIRE WEATHER RISK THIS AFTERNOONBLOCKCHANNELEASBLOCKCHANNELNWEMBLOCKCHANNELCMASEAS-ORGWXRhttps://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.3790c123a50686e1f8f94b31e5fd331540609d89.001.12024-03-18T15:31:00-05:002024-03-18T15:31:00-05:00NWSSpecial Weather Statement issued March 18 at 3:31PM CDT by NWS Paducah KYVery cold and dry surface high pressure will allow temperatures
to drop into the middle and upper 20s throughout the Quad State
tonight. Some more sheltered areas could even drop into the lower
20s.
Although the growing season has not officially started, tender
vegetation could be impacted by these cold temperatures. Please
take necessary actions to protect any tender vegetation tonight.
Southwest winds will increase significantly Tuesday morning, with
gusts of 25 to 40 mph forecast in the afternoon. Along with
relative humidity values falling into the 25 to 30 percent range,
these gusty winds will create an elevated fire danger throughout
the Quad State.
If you are planning outdoor burning Tuesday, use extra caution
and have fire suppression equipment ready.Special Weather Statement2024-03-18T15:31:00-05:002024-03-18T15:31:00-05:002024-03-18T15:31:00-05:002024-03-19T04:00:00-05:00ActualAlertMetExpectedModerateObservedJefferson; Wayne; Edwards; Wabash; Perry; Franklin; Hamilton; White; Jackson; Williamson; Saline; Gallatin; Union; Johnson; Pope; Hardin; Alexander; Pulaski; Massac; Gibson; Pike; Posey; Vanderburgh; Warrick; Spencer; Fulton; Hickman; Carlisle; Ballard; McCracken; Graves; Livingston; Marshall; Calloway; Crittenden; Lyon; Trigg; Caldwell; Union; Webster; Hopkins; Christian; Henderson; Daviess; McLean; Muhlenberg; Todd; Perry; Bollinger; Cape Girardeau; Wayne; Carter; Ripley; Butler; Stoddard; Scott; Mississippi; New MadridSAME017081SAME017191SAME017047SAME017185SAME017145SAME017055SAME017065SAME017193SAME017077SAME017199SAME017165SAME017059SAME017181SAME017087SAME017151SAME017069SAME017003SAME017153SAME017127SAME018051SAME018125SAME018129SAME018163SAME018173SAME018147SAME021075SAME021105SAME021039SAME021007SAME021145SAME021083SAME021139SAME021157SAME021035SAME021055SAME021143SAME021221SAME021033SAME021225SAME021233SAME021107SAME021047SAME021101SAME021059SAME021149SAME021177SAME021219SAME029157SAME029017SAME029031SAME029223SAME029035SAME029181SAME029023SAME029207SAME029201SAME029133SAME029143UGCILZ075UGCILZ076UGCILZ077UGCILZ078UGCILZ080UGCILZ081UGCILZ082UGCILZ083UGCILZ084UGCILZ085UGCILZ086UGCILZ087UGCILZ088UGCILZ089UGCILZ090UGCILZ091UGCILZ092UGCILZ093UGCILZ094UGCINZ081UGCINZ082UGCINZ085UGCINZ086UGCINZ087UGCINZ088UGCKYZ001UGCKYZ002UGCKYZ003UGCKYZ004UGCKYZ005UGCKYZ006UGCKYZ007UGCKYZ008UGCKYZ009UGCKYZ010UGCKYZ011UGCKYZ012UGCKYZ013UGCKYZ014UGCKYZ015UGCKYZ016UGCKYZ017UGCKYZ018UGCKYZ019UGCKYZ020UGCKYZ021UGCKYZ022UGCMOZ076UGCMOZ086UGCMOZ087UGCMOZ100UGCMOZ107UGCMOZ108UGCMOZ109UGCMOZ110UGCMOZ111UGCMOZ112UGCMOZ114AWIPSidentifierSPSPAHWMOidentifierWWUS83 KPAH 182031NWSheadlineHard Freeze Expected Tonight... ...Elevated Fire Danger TuesdayBLOCKCHANNELEASBLOCKCHANNELNWEMBLOCKCHANNELCMASEAS-ORGWXRhttps://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.72bee13dde90cad00e8fb3d2551bce6abab6a110.001.12024-03-18T15:14:00-04:002024-03-18T15:14:00-04:00NWSSpecial Weather Statement issued March 18 at 3:14PM EDT by NWS Louisville KYAnother cold night is expected as temperatures drop off into the
25 to 30 degree range for most. Although the growing season has
not officially began, per coordination with state ag partners,
early blooming vegetation will likely be harmed or killed by this
hard freeze.
Gusty southwest winds between 20 and 30 mph with occasional gusts
between 30 and 40 mph are expected on Tuesday, mainly from late
morning through the early evening. Use caution if planning to be
outdoors or driving a high profile vehicle.
In addition to the strong and gusty winds, the airmass will be
very dry resulting in low relative humidity. The combination of
these breezy conditions and dry air will result in increased fire
danger Tuesday, and possibly again into Wednesday. Outdoor burning
is not recommended as any fire could grow out of control under
these conditions.Special Weather Statement2024-03-18T15:14:00-04:002024-03-18T15:14:00-04:002024-03-18T15:14:00-04:002024-03-19T05:00:00-04:00ActualAlertMetExpectedModerateObservedOrange; Washington; Scott; Jefferson; Dubois; Crawford; Perry; Harrison; Floyd; Clark; Hancock; Breckinridge; Meade; Ohio; Grayson; Hardin; Bullitt; Jefferson; Oldham; Trimble; Henry; Shelby; Franklin; Scott; Harrison; Spencer; Anderson; Woodford; Fayette; Bourbon; Nicholas; Nelson; Washington; Mercer; Jessamine; Clark; Larue; Marion; Boyle; Garrard; Madison; Butler; Edmonson; Hart; Green; Taylor; Casey; Lincoln; Logan; Warren; Simpson; Allen; Barren; Monroe; Metcalfe; Adair; Russell; Cumberland; ClintonSAME018117SAME018175SAME018143SAME018077SAME018037SAME018025SAME018123SAME018061SAME018043SAME018019SAME021091SAME021027SAME021163SAME021183SAME021085SAME021093SAME021029SAME021111SAME021185SAME021223SAME021103SAME021211SAME021073SAME021209SAME021097SAME021215SAME021005SAME021239SAME021067SAME021017SAME021181SAME021179SAME021229SAME021167SAME021113SAME021049SAME021123SAME021155SAME021021SAME021079SAME021151SAME021031SAME021061SAME021099SAME021087SAME021217SAME021045SAME021137SAME021141SAME021227SAME021213SAME021003SAME021009SAME021171SAME021169SAME021001SAME021207SAME021057SAME021053UGCINZ076UGCINZ077UGCINZ078UGCINZ079UGCINZ083UGCINZ084UGCINZ089UGCINZ090UGCINZ091UGCINZ092UGCKYZ023UGCKYZ024UGCKYZ025UGCKYZ026UGCKYZ027UGCKYZ028UGCKYZ029UGCKYZ030UGCKYZ031UGCKYZ032UGCKYZ033UGCKYZ034UGCKYZ035UGCKYZ036UGCKYZ037UGCKYZ038UGCKYZ039UGCKYZ040UGCKYZ041UGCKYZ042UGCKYZ043UGCKYZ045UGCKYZ046UGCKYZ047UGCKYZ048UGCKYZ049UGCKYZ053UGCKYZ054UGCKYZ055UGCKYZ056UGCKYZ057UGCKYZ061UGCKYZ062UGCKYZ063UGCKYZ064UGCKYZ065UGCKYZ066UGCKYZ067UGCKYZ070UGCKYZ071UGCKYZ072UGCKYZ073UGCKYZ074UGCKYZ075UGCKYZ076UGCKYZ077UGCKYZ078UGCKYZ081UGCKYZ082AWIPSidentifierSPSLMKWMOidentifierWWUS83 KLMK 181914NWSheadlineCold Tonight, Breezy with Increased Fire Danger TuesdayBLOCKCHANNELEASBLOCKCHANNELNWEMBLOCKCHANNELCMASEAS-ORGWXRhttps://api.weather.gov/alerts/urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.4eab0633f7b72d24eaa54d3d15a8e145616d318a.001.12024-03-18T14:45:00-04:002024-03-18T14:45:00-04:00NWSSpecial Weather Statement issued March 18 at 2:45PM EDT by NWS Indianapolis INSub-freezing temperatures are expected tonight.
