to critical values across the North Carolina mountains, foothills,
and portions of the western Piedmont this afternoon. Relative
Humidity values are expected to be 20 percent or less for several
hours this afternoon through early evening. Westerly winds will
range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph, along and
north of the Interstate 40 corridor, to 10 to 20 mph with gusts as
high as 30 mph to the south. This combined with dry fuels will
result in potentially dangerous fire weather conditions.
Refer to your local burn-permitting agency to determine whether
you may burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.Special Weather Statement2024-03-29T11:08:00-04:002024-03-29T11:08:00-04:002024-03-29T11:08:00-04:002024-03-29T20:00:00-04:00ActualAlertMetExpectedModerateObservedAvery; Alexander; Madison; Yancey; Mitchell; Swain; Haywood; Buncombe; Catawba; Graham; Northern Jackson; Macon; Southern Jackson; Transylvania; Henderson; Cleveland; Lincoln; Gaston; Caldwell Mountains; Greater Caldwell; Burke Mountains; Greater Burke; McDowell Mountains; Eastern McDowell; Rutherford Mountains; Greater Rutherford; Polk Mountains; Eastern PolkSAME037011SAME037003SAME037115SAME037199SAME037121SAME037173SAME037087SAME037021SAME037035SAME037075SAME037099SAME037113SAME037175SAME037089SAME037045SAME037109SAME037071SAME037027SAME037023SAME037111SAME037161SAME037149UGCNCZ033UGCNCZ035UGCNCZ048UGCNCZ049UGCNCZ050UGCNCZ051UGCNCZ052UGCNCZ053UGCNCZ056UGCNCZ058UGCNCZ059UGCNCZ062UGCNCZ063UGCNCZ064UGCNCZ065UGCNCZ068UGCNCZ069UGCNCZ070UGCNCZ501UGCNCZ502UGCNCZ503UGCNCZ504UGCNCZ505UGCNCZ506UGCNCZ507UGCNCZ508UGCNCZ509UGCNCZ510AWIPSidentifierSPSGSPWMOidentifierWWUS82 KGSP 291508NWSheadlineINCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENINGBLOCKCHANNELEASBLOCKCHANNELNWEMBLOCKCHANNELCMASEAS-ORGWXR
